Usually no more then a few kilometers across, these asteroids were normally settled by individual families or communes.
When the number of Homesteaders grew large enough to necessitate them, a series of laws were made to their benefit, and
added to the Confederation treaties. These laws protect the Homesteaders from theft of their asteroid by larger mining
companies and created standards of living among the small communities. Extremely independent, Homesteaders seldom venture
out from the Belt, and indeed, their own asteroid.
